The recognition or being able to help people outside of Nazis?
[ She isn't sure which, or that, you know, Captain America is totally modern now. Still somehow punching Nazis, though!!! ]
I have a lot of things I want to ask you just about...what it's like to know you're a hero to a lot of people but that seems like too much when we're literally trying not to freeze to death.
[ Steve laughs a better, proper laugh this time. ]
Maybe a little bit of both, in that case.
[ Punching Nazis had been the 'easy' part. Everything after that ... oh, boy. He sure went through a hell of a lot since those days. ]
We could always take a raincheck, if you want. But for the record, a question like that - [ He breathes out another huff of laughter that becomes a chilly cloud of condensation. ] - that's a lot of pressure.
[ Steve shrugs, chuckling at the comment. It's somehow a very Claire-like thing to say that it strikes him how similar the two of them are, which is very fitting, of course. ]
You'll find it's not very hard to make friends here. All of us are refugees without homes - it can be a pretty strong common bond to start. And you're always welcome to come to me whenever you want.
[ Being a good influence is arguable, depending on your definition of good. Steve's stubborn and if you're on the opposite side of whatever it is he's fighting for, he's likely to be one hell of a pain in your backside.
But otherwise - yeah. A loyal friend and the best back-up one can ask for. ]
[ Steve knows just as well that Claire can sometimes be a little ... impulsive. It's not a bad trait to have, and it's certainly one Steve shares with her, but it does mean she gets into trouble more often than not.
(Again, he gets this. He's the same way.)
He shakes his head in response to her next comment, however. ]
No thanks are necessary. I'm just doing what any other person here would do.
[ And at this point, knowing that she's Claire's daughter means he'd do just about anything for her too. ]

[ Though, she smiles and it's a cheeky grin, so she might not hold him to that. ]
I'd like a raincheck. I don't know anyone very well yet, and I'm sure there's nothing my mother can object to about it.
[ Hanging out with Steve Rogers can only be a good influence on Brianna, right? ]

But lets get to the city first.

Let's get to the city. Before my mother loses her mind and tries to come find me out in this on her own.
[ Which she could do, Bree knows that for a fact. ]
Thanks, by the way. For putting up with what I said before and for helping me.

Then the people here have a lot to live up to in my opinion.
[ There, totally not lame. ]
